SkiftX is Skift’s in-house branded content studio delivering best-in-class multi-platform programs for Skift’s flagship brand, in addition to sister brands Skift Meetings, Daily Lodging Report, and Airline Weekly. Our brand work drives how the travel industry speaks to its stakeholders, externally and internally.


The Opportunity


SkiftX is looking for a highly organized full-time Project Manager, Branded Content to join the team. In this unique entry-level position you’ll gain first-hand experience working with some of the biggest names in the global travel industry across a variety of Skift’s sponsored content programs. You’ll also play a critical role keeping the SkiftX team and the company’s various sponsored content partners organized and on track,  along with playing a key support role for SkiftX’s editors, helping to proofread, copy edit and prepare written sponsored content projects for publication. This position is remote/work-from-home, based anywhere in the United States.


Some of What You Will Do


DIGITAL PROJECTS/PROGRAMS


  • Collaborate with the SkiftX team and various company stakeholders (design, marketing, product events) on the flawless and timely delivery of various sponsored content projects. such as custom articles, webinars, research reports, micro-site builds, sponsored talks at Skift events, and infographics, in various combinations/packages 
  • Communicate sponsored content project requirements, timeline milestones, and any digital assets required to Skift team members and client sponsors 
  • Oversee the SkiftX sponsored project kickoff process for new work, including scheduling client kickoffs, setting up project management resources and scheduling regular status check-ins as needed
  • Assist SkiftX’s Head of Studio, Content Director and Senior Manager, Operations and Events with high-level tracking and forecasting of the team’s ongoing workload and available inventory to sell additional sponsored content campaigns
  • Support SkiftX editors with proofreading, copy editing, and interview process related to written sponsored content deliverables such as articles and reports
  • Understand and articulate the SkiftX sponsored content creation process and determine when to be flexible with clients vs push back
  • Stay abreast of trafficking and inventory associated with standard digital ad products (on-site banners and newsletter placements) by liaising with the Sales Operations Manager and Content and Events Producer (providing coverage as needed)


EVENT ACTIVATIONS (VIRTUAL, LIVE, AND HYBRID)


  • Support SkiftX Head of Studio, Senior Manager, Operations Events and Content & Event Manager with sponsored programs at Skift virtual and in-person events. This includes:
    • Organizing event logistics, communication, and coordination with clients for sponsor activations
    • Asset collection of sponsor materials
    • On-site and/or virtual event support
  • Create and maintain project timelines for event activations to ensure important deadlines are met
  • Manage client and speaker communication process, including developing and distributing production logistics associated with event activations


ACROSS ALL PLATFORMS


  • Execution of standard tasks associated with project management, including:
    • Timeline development and updates
    • Asset collection
    • Resource planning/scheduling
    • Briefing internal and external teams
    • Budget tracking/reconciliation
  • Further develop and maintain SkiftX’s library of documentation, including required assets, process outlines, standard timelines for various content formats, sponsor logistics, and more
  • Provide seamless execution that over-delivers on client expectations
  • Coordinate all administrative needs to support client projects and activations, including post event recaps
  • Help the team brainstorm new advertiser solutions that enhance the digital and/or live event experience 


The Experience You Bring


The ideal candidate will be well versed in generating and tracking timelines, prioritizing and reprioritizing tasks, and actively communicating status internally and externally. 


  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in project management and operations, including experience with client management
  • Background in communications, marketing, online media, or event planning
  • Extremely strong written and oral communication skills. Experience with copywriting or proofreading a plus.
  • Superb ability to manage competing priorities and multi-pronged campaigns in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Expert in Google suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
  • Extremely detail-oriented, organized, and able to work autonomously
  • At ease with client relations - comfortable communicating with clients over email, video chat and phone
  • Experience with project management tools like Basecamp and/or Notion
  • Familiarity with WordPress and Hubspot
  • Basic HTML skills and familiarity with design tools is a plus (Photoshop, InDesign) 
  • Familiarity and preferably experience working in a media company or at a media agency
