Skift, the most influential media company covering the business of travel, is seeking a full-time Events Manager to help manage all event logistics for our global, online and hybrid/physical events. Skift is a fully distributed, remote company with a team-based around the globe. This position is remote, based anywhere in the US.


Skift Forums and Summits are the leading creative business events in the global travel industry. For the rest of 2021, Skift is planning online conferences for nearly every month of the year, and then return to hosting more physical events starting in 2022. Our events are fast paced, intimate, and thought provoking. Our biggest event of the year is Skift Global Forum, bringing CEOs from across the industry together to discuss travels future:

Some of What You’ll Do

  • Work with the events team on managing multiple events simultaneously from start to finish, including venue selection, contracts, décor, hotel room block, audio visual, F&B and all related event logistics and experiences in both US and internationally
  • Manage and maintain the virtual platform pre, during and post event for assigned events
  • Research vendor options, develop RFPs, evaluate bids, and negotiate for best possible pricing
  • Serve as liaison between internal team and third-party vendors to ensure all event specifications are accurate and consistent
  • Brainstorm and implement innovative event concepts to enhance event experience for both attendees and sponsors
  • Source and secure private dinner venues for forums
  • Recruit, assign and manage staff and temp onsite event assignments
  • Build project timelines to include all deliverables and ensure important deadlines are met
  • Proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot emerging problems on event day
  • Coordinate all administrative needs to support projects and activations (including but not limited to post event recaps, shipping, expenses, etc.


The Experience You Bring

  • 4+ years’ experience in event management and planning
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines to meet
  • Experience managing virtual platforms on the backend
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, G Suite, Basecamp.
  • Must be willing and able to travel
